Sources

Every fact has a source. How a listing is built.

  1. From the provider’s own pages and the public registers: the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for clinics and scans, the General Medical Council (GMC) for doctors.
  2. Prices as published by the provider, with the date checked. Where a provider’s pages give different prices, each one is shown with its page.
  3. Longevity List does not rank providers or say whether a treatment works.

Common questions

Do I need a GP referral for a full body MRI?

None of the 4 providers compared above asks you to see your GP first. The Cancer Screening Trust arranges the referral through its own doctor, and Prenuvo reviews every booking before the scan.

Is a DEXA scan for body composition allowed in the UK?

The UK Government’s position, published 30th March 2026, says: “providing DEXA for non‑medical sports and wellness purposes is prohibited”. A public consultation on allowing it closed on 1st June 2026. No decision has been published.

GOV.UK, checked 25th October 2026

Should I have a full body MRI if I have no symptoms?

Longevity List does not give medical advice. The Royal College of Radiologists says: “If you don’t have symptoms, we don’t recommend an elective MRI.”

What is healthy life expectancy?

The Office for National Statistics measures it. In its words, healthy life expectancy “represents the average time an individual is expected to live in ‘very good’ or ‘good’ general health, based on how individuals perceive their general health.”

Office for National Statistics, checked 22nd October 2026

Is “longevity clinic” an official term?

No official definition was found in the guidance checked from the CQC, GOV.UK and the Advertising Standards Authority. The CQC registers the services a clinic provides, such as diagnostic and screening procedures, rather than what the clinic calls itself. Each listing shows the clinic’s CQC registration where one was found.

CQC, GOV.UK and Advertising Standards Authority guidance, checked 22nd October 2026

Are clinics ranked?

No. Listings are compared on the facts each provider publishes. Longevity List does not rate or rank them.

How up to date is this?

Every fact shows the date it was checked. The records on this page were checked between 20th and 25th October 2026.
